Notes: It rained lightly early afternoon around 1:30 or 2:00, about 0.05". Then it
began sprinkling on and off from about 7:00-8:30pm but likely not measurable. Then thunder
suddenly began on top of us at about 9:40 or so and the rain began shortly thereafter. By
9:55 it was pouring cats and dogs and the heavy rain didn't let up until about 10:20
or so, with over 0.80"!!! Wow! And it seems more may be on the way tonight and
tomorrow and even Friday. Talk about breaking the drought! Because we are at the top of a
hill, we don't experience flooding, per se, but when we get rain this hard, especially
on already rather saturated ground, we get big puddles on the flat area of pasture within
a couple of acres around the house and in the driveway. After last nights rainstorm, there
were big puddles in the driveway and in our flat pasture.
