* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including
the following counties, in east central Colorado, Elbert. In
northeast Colorado, Arapahoe and Douglas.
* WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 436 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southern Aurora, northeastern Centennial, eastern Parker,
Elizabeth, Ponderosa Park, The Pinery, Franktown and
Castlewood Canyon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including
the following areas, in east central Colorado, North and Northeast
Elbert County Below 6000 Feet/North Lincoln County. In northeast
Colorado, Boulder And Jefferson Counties Below 6000 Feet/West
Broomfield County, Central and East Adams and Arapahoe Counties,
Central and South Weld County, Elbert/Central and East Douglas
Counties Above 6000 Feet, Morgan County, North Douglas County
Below 6000 Feet/Denver/West Adams and Arapahoe Counties/East

* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

- Another round of strong to severe storms are expected again
this afternoon and evening. Some of these storms will produce
very heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding. In
addition, many areas received considerable rainfall last
night, where from 1 to over 3 inches of rain had fallen.
Soils are already saturated and won't take much additional
rainfall to create problems. Creeks and streams are already
running high as well.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
