...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of north central
Douglas, western Arapahoe, Denver, east central Jefferson and
southwestern Adams Counties through 530 PM MDT...
At 456 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Lakewood to Castle Pines, or along a line
extending from 7 miles west of Denver to 41 miles north of Colorado
Springs. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Denver, southwestern Aurora, Lakewood, southern Thornton, Centennial,
Highlands Ranch, southwestern Commerce City, northwestern Parker,
Littleton, Englewood, southeastern Wheat Ridge, Greenwood Village,
Lone Tree, Sheridan, and Castle Pines.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
