...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including
the following counties, in east central Colorado, Elbert. In
northeast Colorado, Adams and Arapahoe.
* WHEN...Until 445 AM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1248 AM MDT, local law enforcement reported flooding.
Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Coal Creek, Kiowa Creek, Horse Creek, Box Elder Creek, Piney
Creek, Running Creek, Dry Creek, First Creek, Gold Creek,
Bayou Gulch, Little Dry Creek and West Sand Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eastern Aurora, Bennett, Elizabeth, Manila Village, Watkins
and Ponderosa Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
