...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM MDT THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Colorado, including the following
counties, Adams, Arapahoe, Denver and Jefferson.
* WHEN...Until 1230 AM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 928 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 0.5 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Denver, northwestern Aurora, Lakewood, southern Commerce
City, northern Englewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden, southwestern
Denver International Airport, Sheridan, Morrison, Red Rocks
Park, Idledale, Indian Hills, Edgewater, Mountain View,
Pleasant View and Genesee.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
