Southwestern Denver County in northeastern Colorado...
Northeastern Douglas County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 845 PM MDT.
* At 716 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. Given the
already saturated grounds, additonal minor flooding will be
possible.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southwestern Denver, southwestern Aurora, southern Lakewood,
Centennial, Highlands Ranch, northwestern Parker, Littleton,
Englewood, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Sheridan, Morrison,
Chatfield Reservoir, Arapahoe Park, Cherry Hills Village,
Foxfield, Cherry Creek Reservoir, Columbine and Ken Caryl.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage
areas and other low lying spots.
