...WINTRY MIX MOVING NORTHEAST ACROSS THE METRO AREAS WILL CREATE
SLICK ROADS THROUGH 5:30 PM...
A line of rain is pushing up from the south with moderate rain and
gusty winds. As this rain encounters the cold temperatures stuck
under today's sharp inversion over the metro areas, the rain may
become sleet or fall as freezing rain onto cold pavement. This
will result in slick driving conditions and sidewalks. This line
should move out of the area by 5:30 PM.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Denver CO
411 AM MST Thu Nov 21 2019
...VERY SLIPPERY CONDITIONS EXPECTED IN THE FOOTHILLS AND WESTERN
PORTIONS OF THE DENVER METRO AREA THIS MORNING...
.Overnight, weak upslope flow and a moist airmass that is only
slightly cooler than the freezing point combined to produce areas
of freezing drizzle, which fell after last evening's snowfall. The
freezing drizzle has been limited to areas in and near the
foothills of Boulder, Jefferson and Douglas Counties, although
some icy conditions have also been reported to the west of I-25 in
the Denver area. The freezing drizzle will continue adding to any
icy surfaces for the next couple hours. Motorists should give
themselves extra travel time for this morning's commute. Scraping
ice off car windows may also take longer than normal. By late
morning, road temperatures should warm enough to reduce the
slippery driving conditions.
