The National Weather Service in Denver Colorado has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Broomfield County in northeastern Colorado...
West central Adams County in northeastern Colorado...
Southeastern Boulder County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 1230 AM MDT.
* At 1032 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. The heavy rain was concentrated from Lafayette to
Broomfield. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Thornton, eastern Westminster, Broomfield, Northglenn, Lafayette,
Louisville, Erie and Federal Heights.
A quick one half to 1.5 inches inches of rain is expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in considerable
street flooding, and small streams will run swift and high.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
