...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central and north central Colorado, including
the following counties, in central Colorado, Clear Creek. In north
central Colorado, Grand. This includes the Williams Fork burn
area.
* WHEN...Until 215 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1252 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Up to
0.4 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
West Fork Clear Creek, Bobtail Creek, South Fork Williams
Fork, Keyser Creek, Boham Creek, Vasquez Creek, Tipperary
Creek, Crooked Creek, Ute Creek, Range Creek, East Saint
Louis Creek, Middle Fork Williams Fork, Darling Creek, Kinney
Creek, Williams Fork, Pass Creek and Saint Louis Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
mainly rural areas of West Central Clear Creek and South
Central Grand Counties
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks, streams,
and ditches in the Williams Fork burn area. The heavy rains could
also trigger rock slides or debris flows.
