...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...
At 209 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported strong thunderstorms
along a line extending from Aurora to 4 miles west of The Pinery, or
along a line extending from 17 miles southeast of Denver to 41 miles
north of Colorado Springs. Movement was east at 25 mph.
Frequent lighting, winds gusts around 35 mph, and pea size hail are
likely with these storms. Accumulating hail is possible. Please be
aware of hail covering the roadways.
Locations impacted include...
Southern Aurora, southeastern Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Castle
Rock, Parker, Lone Tree, Roxborough Park, Bennett, Elizabeth, The
Pinery, Louviers, Arapahoe Park, Franktown, Ponderosa Park, Castle
Pines and Sedalia.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM MDT for
northeastern and east central Colorado.

...MOUNTAIN SNOW EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT ...
.A cold storm system will move across the Central Rockies this
weekend. The snow level will fall to between 9,000 and 10,000
feet tonight. The heaviest snow is expected above 10,000 feet MSL
where 4 to 10 inches of snow is expected. A light snow
accumulation will be possible down to 9,000 feet. Cold and snowy
conditions are expected for the mountains through the weekend.
Plan accordingly if you are going to be spending time in the
mountains.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches
above 10,000 feet MSL. Light snow accumulations will be
possible down to 9,000 feet MSL
* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park, the Medicine Bow Range and
the Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the
Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT Sunday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High mountain roads may become slippery. If
venturing into the mountains this weekend be prepared for cold
temperatures and periods of rain and snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
