COUNTIES UNTIL 315 PM MDT...
At 244 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms
across Western Jefferson County, along a line extending from 3 miles
northwest of Idledale to 5 miles northwest of Roxborough Park, or
along a line extending from 15 miles west of Denver. Movement was
east at 25 mph.
Penny size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Western Denver, Lakewood, southeastern Arvada, southwestern
Centennial, Highlands Ranch, northern Castle Rock, Littleton,
Englewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Greenwood Village, Evergreen, Lone
Tree, Roxborough Park, Sheridan, Morrison, Idledale, Conifer, Tiny
Town and Chatfield Reservoir.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
