...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM
MDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 3 to 11 inches,
heaviest above 10,000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph above
timberline Thursday.
* WHERE...The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and
the Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT Friday, with the most
impactful weather and road conditions late Thursday through
Thursday evening.
* IMPACTS...Roads will become slippery, especially through mountain
passes tonight and Thursday morning, but lowering to valley floors
toward Thursday evening. Use caution when traveling.
Hunters and others who will be outdoors should be prepared for
colder, wet and windy weather.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for Colorado can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or by going
to www.cotrip.org.
Chain and traction laws will possibly be enacted for the mountains.
If traveling to the mountains, be prepared for winter driving
conditions.
