...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM MDT
SATURDAY...
* WHAT...West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow
Range and The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range,
and the Indian Peaks above 9,000 feet elevation.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM MDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects.
Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles. New and
existing fires will spread rapidly.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is also a Red Flag Warning in effect
through 6 PM Saturday. This High Wind Warning is in effect to
highlight the timing and intensity of the strongest winds. Winds
will remain strong but below high wind warning criteria
throughout the day Saturday, and over a larger region as
highlighted by the Red Flag Warning..
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Hazardous driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will
pose a serious risk for drivers, especially for light weight and
high profile vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought
inside or secured properly.
