...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between one
and three feet. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph causing near
blizzard conditions over higher exposed areas.
* WHERE...Rabbit Ears Pass, and Rocky Mountain National Park and the
Medicine Bow Range.
* WHEN...Snow will increase today and be heavy at times. The snow
will diminish late tonight into Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Near blizzard conditions can be expected in exposed
areas. Travel could be very difficult and road closures are
possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Consider avoiding travel in the northern mountains today. If travel
is absolutely necessary, be prepared for slow travel and possible
road closures. Drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded. The latest road conditions

15 inches. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph with blowing snow
and poor visibilities over the mountain passes and exposed ridges.
* WHERE...The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and
the Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...Snow will increase today and be heavy at times this
afternoon and evening. The snow will diminish later tonight into
Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible, and road
closures are possible.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 AM MST
THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5
inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Wind Chills as low as 25
below zero.
* WHERE...Briggsdale, Sterling, Julesburg, and Holyoke.
* WHEN...Snow will develop this afternoon and may be briefly heavy
in the late afternoon and early evening. The snow will end by
morning but cold wind chills will persist in the early morning
hours.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions developing. Exposed
skin may become quickly frostbitten or frozen. The dangerously
cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as
little as 30 minutes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
The combination of wind and cold temperatures will create
dangerously low wind chill values. If you go outside, cover all
parts of your body, especially your head, face, and hands.
