...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM MDT SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Colorado, including the following
counties, Logan, Morgan and Weld.
* WHEN...Until 530 PM MDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 541 PM MDT, emergency management reported small stream
flooding continues in some areas.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
South Platte River, Beall Creek, Cottonwood Creek, South
Pawnee Creek, East Lewis Creek, West Fork Cottonwood Creek,
Darby Creek, Baymer Creek, George Creek, Brush Creek, Pawnee
Inlet Number 1, Pawnee Creek, Springdale Creek, Sand Creek
and Spring Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sterling, Crook, North Sterling Reservoir, Padroni, Logan
Corners, Atwood, Pawnee Pass, Willard, Stoneham and Twin
Buttes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and
other low lying areas.
