...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
TO MIDNIGHT MST FRIDAY NIGHT...
* WHAT...Snow, becoming heavy Thursday morning. Total snow
accumulations of 1 and a half to 3 feet. Heaviest snowfall will
occur along the higher northwest facing slopes. Winds gusting
as high as 65 mph.
* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow
Range and Rabbit Ears Pass.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to midnight MST Friday night.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening
commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage. The cold wind
chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed
skin in as little as 30 minutes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
