On this day 83 years ago, remnants of a tropical storm brought 9-inch rains to Colorado’s Front Range causing deaths and record flooding between Morrison and Eldorado Springs. The date was September 2, 1938. The devastating floods in New York and throughout the New England states today serve as a reminder of what’s possible where we live.

The attachment illustrates how our ArcGIS Real-time storm & flood data map can be used in the short-term following a major event. You may want to explore it’s features while Ida rainfall is still active. To show the 24-hour images, select the “Rainfall Analysis” layer.
