HOT AGAIN WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR ISOLATED HIGH-BASED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON
-High-pressure continues to build over the region today leading to another hot day with high temperatures in the mid to upper 90's across the plains with mid to upper 80's in the foothills. Mostly sunny skies this morning with a slight chance for high-based afternoon and early evening rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.
-Showers and thunderstorms will begin to form along the foothills between 11-1pm and will move across the plains between 12-2pm with a chance for scattered lingering rain showers until 5-6pm before skies clear into the evening. Storm motion today will be from west to east between 10-15mph. The largest threat today will be gusty winds and lightning. Rainfall will once again struggle to reach the ground today, although 0.10-0.20" in 10-30 minutes cannot be completely ruled out if a moderate thunderstorm is able to develop favoring areas east of I-25.
-Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 60's into Wednesday with hot and dry conditions for the rest of the week.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Weak showers/thunderstorms will produce a trace to 0.10" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A moderate thunderstorm will produce 0.10-0.20" in 10-30 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: High-pressure will continue to hold over the next several days resulting in above average temperatures and dry conditions through the weekend. A chance Friday and Saturday to reach 100 degrees around Denver for the first time this year.
