- | Message 1's have been issued for the entire District and will remain valid until 8:00 pm this evening. |
- | Thunderstorms are beginning to develop over the higher terrain and along the Palmer Divide at this time. As these storms develop over the next hour or so, they will begin to move out onto the plains where rapid strengthening is expected with a chance of storms becoming severe along the I-25 corridor and eastward. Storms today will have heavy rainfall, strong winds, large hail and frequent lightning. |
- | Storm motions will generally be W/NW to E/SE between 10-15 mph, with erratic storm motions possible if storms form off outflow boundaries or gust fronts. Outflow boundaries of gust fronts may also cause storms to anchor in place resulting in extended periods of heavy rainfall. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A slow moving/stationary strong thunderstorm formed along an outflow boundary or gust front could produce up to 2.4" in 45-60 minutes.
