Flash Flood Prediction Program

ANOTHER COOLER THAN AVERAGE DAY WITH OFF AND ON RAIN SHOWERS/ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE
-Cooler temperatures remain over the region today as highs only reach the mid 60's to around 70 degrees this afternoon on the plains with low 60's along the foothills. Rain chances today have trended downward as a disturbance moves just south of Colorado effectively missing the District at this time.
-A few rain showers along the Palmer Divide this morning will continue off and on throughout the day and into the early evening. Shower activity will most likely remain along the Palmer Divide and into the foothills this morning with a few scattered rain showers or an isolated thunderstorm moving into the District around midday and into the afternoon and early evening. Best chance for shower activity will remain south of I-70.
-By sunset, shower activity will diminish after sunset with mild conditions expected through the overnight and into Saturday.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers will produce a trace-0.10" in 10-30 minutes. A moderate rain shower or isolated thunderstorm could produce 0.1-0.2" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A stronger rain shower/isolated thunderstorms has the potential to produce 0.2-0.6" in 60 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: Northwest flow aloft Saturday as the disturbance moves out will keep a slight chance for a few scattered rain showers/isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon. Temperatures will start to increase tomorrow as well in the low to mid 70's under mostly sunny skies.
