Flash Flood Prediction Program

A PLEASANT DAY FOR MOM... RAIN RETURNS TO THE DISTRICT ON MONDAY
-A pleasant day is in store over the District for Mother's Day with temperatures warming into the mid to possibly upper 60's over the plains with 50's in the Front Range foothills. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny with variable winds of 5-15mph.
-Any shower or thunderstorm activity today is expected to be weak and remain over the higher mountains and foothills to the W and SW of the District, leaving the District itself dry.
-Tonight a storm system will be on the approach with moisture on the increase. Shower activity will initiate over the western mountains overnight and a stray shower or sprinkle could spill over the Continental Divide onto the foothills. Meaningful precipitation is not expected.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: No meaningful precipitation expected today or tonight.

A LOOK AHEAD: Cooler Monday with highs in the upper 50's to lower 60's over the plains with showers and thunderstorms on the increase by around noon. Scattered to widespread rain showers are expected during the afternoon and evening with an embedded thunderstorm possible. Conditions look to dry out by around 10pm or shortly after. Heavy rainfall threat looks to be low Monday as precipitation likely favors a general rain versus thunderstorms.
