Heavy Precipitation Outlook
Flash Flood Prediction Program

COLD WITH WIDESPREAD RAIN TODAY TURNING TO SNOW TONIGHT
-A broad trough of low pressure is located over the Rocky Mountain region and a cold front has pushed through the District this morning. Widespread rain is developing across the District and will continue today with highs only in the low 40s on the plains.
-A cold and stable airmass is in place, so rainfall rates of 0.2"/hour or less can be expected today. Rain will gradually transition to snow in the foothills above 7,000' this afternoon as colder air filters in.
-Rain will change to snow on the plains around midnight tonight, with snow continuing across all areas of the District through mid to late morning Thursday. Snowfall amounts will generally be light on the plains but could be significant above 7,000'.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Rainfall rates will range from 0.04-0.20" in 30-60 minutes today.

A LOOK AHEAD: Snow will continue across the District through Thursday morning before transitioning back to rain below 6,000' by midday. Rain showers on the plains and snow showers in the foothills will become more isolated Thursday afternoon and will taper off Thursday evening. Highs Thursday in the low 40s plains. On Friday, a few isolated light showers will be possible, mainly over the foothills/Palmer Divide, before warmer and drier conditions arrive this weekend.
