DRY WITH RECORD BREAKING HEAT OVER THE WEEKEND
-Strong high pressure will dominate the weather this weekend with record breaking heat. For today temperatures will climb into the mid 90's to lower 100's over the lower elevations of the District with 80's in the Front Range foothills. Normal high for Denver today is 83 degrees with a record high of 98 set in 2019. The record high of 98 may be tied or broken today.
-Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny with some continued haze due to smoke from wildfires. Winds will be light and variable, generally less than 10mph.

A LOOK AHEAD: Another hot day on Sunday with highs in the mid 90's to around 100 degrees over the plains. Winds will pick up Sunday into the 10-20mph range with higher gusts and in tandem with low RH values fire danger will be high. Record breaking cold is possible late Monday into Wednesday as winter-like storm system moves into NE CO producing rain initially and the seasons first snow!
