-Message 1's have been issued for the entire District, valid until 8pm this evening.
-Showers and thunderstorms are currently developing across the area. These storms are expected to become more numerous over the coming hours. The strongest storms will likely focus over the southern and eastern portions of the District this afternoon.
-With dew points currently in the mid to upper 40s, stronger storms will be capable of producing moderate to heavy rainfall. These storms will track ENE at around 20-25mph, with the best chance for a storm over the District persisting through about 7pm.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts between 0.20-0.70" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A strong or severe thunderstorm could produce up to 1.7" rainfall in 45-75 minutes.
