WARMER AND DRY TODAY WITH A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A HIGH-BASED FOOTHILLS STORM
-High-pressure starts to slowly build over the region today leading to warmer high temperatures in the upper 80's to low 90's on the plains with low to mid 80's in the foothills.
-Breezy southerly flow will bring in drier air at the surface as dew points drop into the upper 20's to low 30's across the District. This will result in mostly sunny skies today with dry conditions out on the plains.
-A very slight chance this evening for a brief rain shower/isolated thunderstorm in the foothills, with minimal rainfall expected. Clear skies through the overnight as lows drop into the upper 50's to low 60's.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: No rainfall expected on the plains today and this evening. A high-based weak rain shower along the foothills could produce a trace to 0.10" in 10-30min.

A LOOK AHEAD: High-pressure will hold over the next several days resulting in temperatures in the low 90's across the plains, with low 80's in the foothills. Dry conditions during the day Thursday with a slight chance for an evening rain shower/isolated thunderstorm. A uptick in upper-level moisture Friday and Saturday will result in an increased chance for afternoon and evening rain showers and thunderstorms.
