- | Message 1's have been issued for the entire District until 10:00pm. |
- | A very unstable environment has become entrenched across the District this afternoon with dewpoint values currently in the upper 50s. Strong to severe thunderstorms have rapidly developed south of the District in South Douglas and Northern El Paso Counties in the last hour. Temperatures are warming enough inside the District to erode the mid-level cap in place within the next 1-2 hours. |
- | Storms today will have the potential to develop rapidly and become strong to severe. Storm motions will be relatively fast to the NE at 15-25mph, but with deep moisture in place storms could produce very heavy rainfall in a short amount of time. Storms will also be capable of producing severe weather, including large hail, damaging wind gusts, and possibly even a tornado. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A strong/severe thunderstorm produces heavy rainfall of up to 2.5" in 45-60 minutes.
