Flash Flood Prediction Program

ISOLATED HIGH-BASED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING ACROSS THE DISTRICT
-An outflow boundary from the east is triggering some isolated high-based thunderstorms across the District this afternoon.
-Low level moisture has continued to decrease, so any rainfall that occurs with these storms will be light and brief. Storms are also moving quickly to the E/NE at 15-25mph.
-Any lingering thunderstorm activity will quickly diminish by sunset with the loss of daytime heating.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: High-based showers and weak thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts of TR-0.1" in 10-30 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: Hot and dry conditions are expected on Thursday and Friday before thunderstorm chances return over the weekend, with an increasing threat for heavy rainfall heading into next week along with cooler temperatures.
