- | High-pressure has settled over Colorado resulting in hot temperatures across the District today with highs in the low to mid 90's. |
- | Moisture continues to decrease across the region, although with enough instability in place, there will be a chance for some isolated high-based showers and thunderstorms to develop by mid to late afternoon, favoring southern and eastern portions of the District. |
- | Storms today will move to the E/NE at 13-18mph and will mainly produce gusty winds and light rainfall, with the potential for a moderate shower if surface moisture is able to increase this afternoon due to adequate surface advection. Thunderstorm activity will quickly diminish this evening with the loss of daytime heating. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: Surface moisture increases this afternoon producing a strong thunderstorm with rainfall up to 0.6" in 30-60 minutes.
A LOOK AHEAD: Friday will be the warmest day this week with temperatures in the mid to upper 90's with a very slight chance for an afternoon shower or isolated thunderstorm. High-pressure begins to break down slightly to our west resulting in slightly cooler temperatures this weekend and better chances for rain shower/thunderstorm activity both Saturday and Sunday.
