ISOLATED MID TO LATE AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS
-NW flow aloft continues today with temperatures warming into the lower 90's over the plains with 70's and 80's in the Front Range foothills.
-Conditions will be dry through early afternoon with thunderstorm chances increasing by 3-4pm. A round of generally weak to moderate thunderstorms is then expected to move through into the evening with possibly a lingering rain shower into the early overnight period. Storms that develop today will be relatively fast moving from NW to SE at 25-30mph.
-Stronger thunderstorms may produce moderate to brief heavy rain and possibly hail along with gusty straight-line winds.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Rain showers and weak thunderstorms will produce a trace to 0.2". Moderate to strong thunderstorms will have the potential to produce 0.2-0.4" in 10-30 mintues.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A large slower moving thunderstorm may produce rainfall rates of 0.3-0.8" in 10-30 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: Temperatures will back off into the 80's for highs on Sunday as a cool front moves through. Thunderstorm activity is expected to increase and stronger storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall.
