COLD WITH WIDESPREAD RAIN/MIX/SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THE EVENING AND INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING
-A powerful low-pressure system has moved to the W/SW of Colorado bringing much cooler air from the north along with widespread rain/mix/snow showers this morning. These showers will continue throughout the day, with any rain/mix turning over to all snow this evening and into Wednesday morning.
-High temperatures today will remain at or just above freezing on the plains with mid to upper 20's along the foothills. Temperatures will drop this evening to below freezing through daybreak Wednesday resulting in NWS to issue a freeze warning from 6pm until noon Wednesday.
-Precipitation totals will represent both rainfall and the liquid equivalent from snowfall.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical Rain/Mix/Snow showers will produce a TR-0.3" in 45-60 minutes. Supplemental QPF is available at https://qpf.udfcd.org

A LOOK AHEAD: Cold temperatures will remain Wednesday as highs are expected in the low 40s across the plains with mid to upper 30's along the foothills. Snow chances will taper off by daybreak Wednesday with dry conditions throughout the rest of the day. Warmer Thursday and Friday with a chance for afternoon and evening rain showers, though the threat for any heavy rainfall will minimal at best. high-pressure starts to build back over the region this weekend leading to much warmer temperatures along with dry conditions.
