-Recent showers and thunderstorms have significantly weakened and are moving east of the District at this time. Additional showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible over the next couple of hours.
-Showers and thunderstorms this evening will likely be on the weaker side, but if a stronger storm manages to develop then heavy rainfall will be possible as storms today have been very efficient rainfall producers. Later tonight, showers will become more isolated in nature with only light rainfall expected during the overnight period.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Showers and weak thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts of 0.05-0.3" in 10-30 minutes. Strong thunderstorms will be capable of producing rainfall of 0.3-0.8" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A strong thunderstorm produces heavy rainfall of up to 1.8" in 60-90 minutes.
