Heavy Precipitation Outlook
Flash Flood Prediction Program

HOT WITH ISOLATED HIGH-BASED AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS
-Temperatures will tack on a couple more degrees today with highs over the plains reaching the low to possibly mid 90's. S to SE winds will be on the increase into the 5-15mph range with gusts to 20mph or more possible.
-Isolated high-based showers and weak thunderstorms will develop by early afternoon with chances continuing through about sunset. Due to limited surface moisture the storms that develop today will produce minimal rain and gusty winds. Stronger gusts may reach or exceed 50mph.
-After sunset conditions expected to be dry over the plain but showers will be increasing over the mountains overnight and may move into the foothills by early Saturday morning.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: High based showers and weak thunderstorms will produce a trace to 0.10" of rain.

A LOOK AHEAD: Thunderstorm activity will increase on Saturday as a low pressure system moves through. Storms will become possible before noon with multiple rounds of storms possible into the evening. Some thunderstorms may produce moderate to heavy rain. Winds will be breezy Saturday from the S/SW gusting to 30mph or more.
