- | Temperatures will remain above normal for this time of year with afternoon highs topping out in the low to mid 90's over the plains with 80's in the Front Range foothills. Normal high for Denver today is 88 degrees. There will continue to be lots of smoke due to multiple wildfires burning in the state making for hazy conditions. |
- | Conditions will be dry over much if not all of the District today but an isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out over the foothills S of I-70 and over the higher terrain of the Palmer Divide. Storms that do manage to develop in this area will produce minimal rain but lightning activity will pose a threat for starting additional fires. If an outflow boundary is pushed northward into the District it may trigger an isolated storm further N than expected. |
A LOOK AHEAD: A better chance for thunderstorm activity will return to the area on Sunday but storm coverage looks to be isolated, to widely scattered with storms producing minimal rainfall and gusty winds. Highs Sunday continue to run in the 90's for highs over the plains.
