- | A gust front from thunderstorm activity over SE WY and NE CO is moving from the N/NE to S/SW and is approaching the District at this time. This front has a history of producing thunderstorm development behind its wake. |
- | Strong thunderstorms have developed over the Fort Collins area as well as Weld County and additional thunderstorm activity may continue to develop southward as the aforementioned gust front moves into the District. With a moist air mass still in place at the surface and a trigger to initiate lift, a strong thunderstorm would still be able to produce heavy rainfall as well as severe weather in the form of large hail and gusty winds. |
- | If the gust front is able to initiate thunderstorm development over the District, Message 1's may need to be re-issued late this evening into the early AM hours on Wednesday. A met-watch will continue into the early overnight period and updates will be issued if needed. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A stationary or slow moving/large thunderstorm may produce up to 2.0" of rain in 60 minutes or less.
A LOOK AHEAD: Drier air is expected to work its way into the District tomorrow, lowering the potential for heavy rainfall.
