High-pressure ridging will begin building across the Great Plains today, supporting sunny, hot, and dry conditions through the weekend and into next week. Patches of fog and stratus have developed across the District in the wake of heavy rain over the last two days. Skies will gradually improve over the course of the morning, becoming sunny by midday. Afternoon temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s, while dewpoints fall into the mid 40s. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: An isolated shower develops over the foothills and moves on to the plains producing 0.25” to 0.50” in 30-45 mins.
A LOOK AHEAD: This weekend will be dry and sunny with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. The warming pattern continues next week with afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s to low 90s with clear, sunny skies and dry conditions.
