- | A moist, surface gust front/outflow boundary has moved into the District and is initiating thunderstorms over NE portions of the District currently. Dew points behind this front/boundary have increased into the low to mid 50's which will result in the threat for thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and possibly severe weather. |
- | The greatest threat currently is over E portions of the District but as the afternoon/evening wears on the storms may back-build towards the foothills. Some storms may anchor along gust fronts moving very slowly with upper level winds from the SW resulting in most storms moving from SW to NE at around 20-25mph. |
- | Message 1's may need to be issued shortly for E areas of the District and possibly further W as the evening wears on. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A stationary strong thunderstorm may result in up to 2" of rain in 60 minutes or less.
A LOOK AHEAD: Conditions look to be dry across the District on Friday with temperatures reaching the upper 90's to around 100 degrees over the plains.
