-Message 1's have been issued for the entire District until 8:00pm.
-Thunderstorms are developing over the Jefferson and Boulder County foothills at this time. As temperatures continue to warm up on the plains, the atmosphere will further destabilize with thunderstorms likely to increase in coverage and move onto the plains in the next 1-2 hours.
-Thunderstorms will track to the E/NE at around 12-17mph across the District this afternoon. Storms could become strong or severe with the potential for heavy rain, large hail, and gusty straight-line winds. The greatest threat for strong/severe storms and heavy rainfall will be through late afternoon, with decreasing chances heading into the evening.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Weak to moderate thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts of 0.1-0.4" in 10-30 minutes. Strong/severe thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts of 0.4-1.0" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A slow-moving severe thunderstorm produces heavy rainfall of up to 2.25" in 60-90 minutes.
