ONE MORE HOT AND DRY DAY...
-One more hot and dry day over the District today then thunderstorms with heavy rainfall return to the District over the weekend along with cooler temperatures. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 90's to lower 100's over the plains under sunny to mostly sunny skies. Record high for Denver today is 101 set back in 2005.
-Conditions are expected to be dry over the District today but a very isolated shower or weak thunderstorm cannot be ruled out over the SW foothills and over the Palmer Divide late this afternoon and evening. No meaningful rainfall is expected.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: No meaningful precipitation is expected today or tonight.

A LOOK AHEAD: A cold front will move through Saturday morning cooling temperatures into the 80's over the plains. Scattered to numerous slow moving thunderstorms will be likely Saturday afternoon and evening with the potential for heavy rainfall. Some storms may also become severe with large hail and gusty winds being the primary threats.
