Heavy Precipitation Outlook
Flash Flood Prediction Program

COLD TODAY WITH SCATTERED RAIN/MIX/SNOW SHOWERS THIS AM, WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR AFTERNOON AND EVENING RAIN SHOWERS
-Unseasonably cold weather continues over the region as the low-pressure system continues to churn towards the west. This low-pressure system will continue to push in moisture from the SW resulting in a chance for continued rain/mix/snow this morning, with rain favoring the lower elevations on the plains, with snow in and along the foothills and Palmer Divide as temperatures remain close to freezing at higher elevations.
-We will warm up slightly during the day into the upper 30's to around 40 on the plains, with low to mid 30's in the foothills. A slight chance this afternoon and evening for scattered rain showers with the foothills receiving flurries to light snow. A continued chance overnight for light rain/snow before a lull in showers activity during the day Thursday.
-Overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 30's on the plains with upper 20's to low 30's in the foothills.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers will produce a TR-0.1" of rain in 30-60 min. A moderate rain shower could produce 0.1-0.2" of rain in 30-60 min. Supplemental QPF is available at https://qpf.udfcd.org

A LOOK AHEAD: The low-pressure system holds through Thursday before slowly dissipating as high pressure starts to move back over the region. A chance for rain will continue through Thursday evening, although heavy rainfall is not expected at this time. Warmer, drier weather begins Friday as high temperatures jump back into the 70's.
