RECORD BREAKING HEAT WITH ISOLATED HIGH-BASED SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS
-Temperatures will tack on a few more degrees today resulting in high temperatures reaching the upper 90's to lower 100's over the plains this afternoon. Record high for Denver today is 99 degrees.
-This afternoon there will be a build up of clouds with isolated high-based showers and weak thunderstorms possible between 2pm and sunset. Storms that develop today will produce little if any rainfall and gusty winds in excess of 40mph.
-A cold front will move through this evening increasing surface moisture and cooling temperatures. The influx of moisture will set the stage for a more active thunderstorm day on Sunday.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Isolated high-based showers and weak thunderstorms will produce a trace to 0.10" of rain.

A LOOK AHEAD: Cooler behind a cold front on Sunday with highs in the upper 80's to around 90 over the plains. Thunderstorms will become likely by early afternoon with 1-2 rounds of storms with the potential for moderate and heavy rainfall.
