HOT, HAZY AND DRY WITH A BIG CHANGE IN WEATHER OVERNIGHT AND TOMORROW
-Another hot and dry day today with temperatures reaching into the upper 80's to low 90's across the plains with upper 70's to low 80's along the foothills. A dramatic change in the weather pattern as a cold front moves in late this evening dropping temperatures 60 degrees into the low to mid 30's overnight.
-Dry and hazy conditions will persist throughout the day today and into the evening. Clouds will increase behind the cold front and will bring a chance for rain with rain turning over to a mix/snow and then snow before daybreak Tuesday. Snow chances will continue throughout the day Tuesday with pockets of heavy snow possible favoring areas West and along the foothills and South along the Palmer Divide.
-Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 30's for the plains with upper 20's to 30 in the foothills and temperatures will hold in the mid 30's throughout the day Tuesday.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: No precipitation in expected today and this evening. Rain showers will be possible late this evening, between 9-11pm through the overnight before turning over to all snow before daybreak Tuesday. Precipitation amounts in table reflect liquid equivalent from snow and rain. Typical rain showers will be between a 0.10-0.40" in 60-90 min with moderate rain/snow showers 0.4-0.6" in 60-90 min. WORST CASE SCENARIO: Stronger snow/rain could bring upwards of 0.6-0.8" in 60-90 min favoring the higher terrain along the foothills and Palmer Divide.

A LOOK AHEAD: Much colder Tuesday as high temperatures remain in the 30's across the District. A powerful low-pressure system will impact the region throughout the day Tuesday resulting in snow chances with 4-8" of snow expected on grass, with good melt pavement. Slightly warmer Wednesday in the mid to upper 40's with a continued chance for off an on rain showers during the day with a slight chance for rain showers in the evening. A slight chance for scattered rain showers continues Thursday morning before we begin to dry out into Thursday evening.
