- | Message 1's have been issued for the entire District until 11:59pm. |
- | A very unstable environment has become entrenched across the District this afternoon with dew point values currently in the upper 50s. Thunderstorms have began to develop along the foothills in Douglas County in the last hour and will spread onto the plains with good potential of becoming severe. Temperatures have stayed cool so far, but with sunny skies and enhanced surface moisture and storms that will develop will have the threat for heavy rainfall. |
- | Storms today will have the potential to develop rapidly and become strong to severe. Storm motions will be relatively quick to the E/NE at 10-15mph, but with deep moisture in place storms could produce very heavy rainfall in a short amount of time. Storms will also be capable of producing severe weather, including large hail, damaging wind gusts, and possibly even a tornado. |
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A strong/severe thunderstorm produces heavy rainfall of up to 2.2" in 45-60 minutes.
