Heavy Precipitation Outlook
Flash Flood Prediction Program

WARM WITH POSSIBLY AN ISOLATED HIGH BASED SHOWER/THUNDERSTORM
-A pleasant day is expected with temperatures warming into the 70's over the plains under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Most areas will be dry today but here is just enough high and mid level moisture moving in from the W this afternoon to produce isolated "high based" rain showers and possibly a weak thunderstorm.
-Showers and weak thunderstorms that manage to develop will produce minimal rain, most likely just a few sprinkles and gusty winds. Storms will move from W to E at 15-20mph. Best chances for a sprinkle will be over southern and eastern areas of the District between 2-8pm.
-Dry conditions can be expected through the overnight period.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Isolated rain showers or a weak thunderstorm will produce a trace to 0.1" of moisture.

A LOOK AHEAD: Temperatures remain in the 70's for highs on Sunday and with a bit more moisture to work with there will be a slightly better chance for high based showers and thunderstorms. Any rainfall looks to be light with most storms producing gusty winds and sprinkles.
