MESSAGE 1'S ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF THE DISTRICT
-Message 1's have been issued for eastern areas of the District including Adams, Arapahoe, Denver and Douglas Counties and will be valid until 9:00 PM this evening.
-Training of thunderstorm cells this afternoon will result in the potential for extended periods of heavy rainfall. Single thunderstorm cells will result in only brief heavy rain. Strong thunderstorms may also produce large hail and gusty winds.
-The threat for heavy rainfall is lesser west towards the foothills but additional messages may need to be issued later this afternoon. Greatest threat for heavy rain will be through 9:00 PM with additional rain showers continuing overnight.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Thunderstorms will be capable of producing rainfall of 0.3-0.9" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: Training of strong thunderstorm cells may result in heavy rainfall of up to 1.8" in 60-90 minutes.
