SEASONAL WITH ISOLATED AFTERNOON & EVENING SHOWERS & THUNDERSTORMS
-High pressure builds into the Rocky Mountains on Friday, continuing the warming trend towards more-seasonal temperatures across Colorado. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid to upper 70s today, with plenty of sunshine expected this morning.
-Enough moisture remains underneath the ridge for isolated to widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop over the higher terrain, a few of which may drift onto the adjacent plains this afternoon and evening.
-Most of today’s storms will be weak and short-lived, producing only light to briefly-moderate rainfall. Storms will track to the E at around 12-18mph, with the best chance for a storm over the District occurring between about 2pm-7pm.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical showers and thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts between trace-0.15" in 10-30 minutes. Stronger thunderstorms could produce rainfall amounts between 0.15-0.35" in 10-30 minutes.

WORST CASE SCENARIO: A stronger, slow-moving thunderstorm produces up to 0.50" rainfall in 30-60 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: Temperatures remain similar on Saturday, with afternoon highs near seasonal averages. Winds at the surface turn ESE, increasing low-level moisture across the plains by afternoon. This will lead to an enhanced risk for more numerous and potentially stronger thunderstorms capable of measurable rainfall.
