Heavy Precipitation Outlook
Flash Flood Prediction Program

WARMER TODAY WITH A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE OF AN ISOLATED HIGH BASED SHOWER/THUNDERSTORM
-High-pressure continues to dominate over the region today leading to partly sunny skies as high temperatures reach close to 90 degrees this afternoon.
-Generally dry conditions expected throughout the day, although some high based showers will be possible later this afternoon, much of the precipitation will struggle to make it to the ground today. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80's this afternoon along with RH values in the mid 30's. With such a wide temperature and RH spread, the most likely outcome of any storm development will be gusty winds and maybe a light sprinkle of rain. Areas most favored to see any development will be along the foothills and Palmer Divide.
-Overnight temperatures will stay fairly mild in the low to mid 50's on the plains with sunny skies to start the day Tuesday. A slightly better chance to see meaningful precipitation during the afternoon and early evening Tuesday, although the threat for flooding will remain minimal, if any.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Rain showers and weak thunderstorms will produce a trace to 0.05" of rain. A moderate thunderstorm will have the potential to produce 0.05-0.20" in 10-30 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD: A strong low-pressure system is slowly making its way into the region from the west over the next couple of days. This system will increase our chances for a more active weather pattern heading into the middle of the week. A chance for rain showers/isolated thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon and early evening over the next few days with the best chance for seeing significant weather Thursday afternoon and evening.
