Time: 1124 PM Thu May 30, 2024 Forecaster: Justin Brooks ------------------------- MESSAGE 1 UPDATE Flash Flood Prediction Program ------------------------- STREET FLOODING POTENTIAL We previously determined that street and small stream flooding is possible in the following counties: DOUGLAS, ADAMS, DENVER, ARAPAHOE including: DIA, THE CITY OF AURORA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ from: Current to 200 AM . Prime time for flooding: Current to 100 AM . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Forecast rainfall: Typical thunderstorms will produce rainfall of 0.10-0.30” total in 10-30 minutes. Moderate to strong storms have the potential to produce heavy rainfall of 0.30" to 0.60” total in 10-30 minutes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The most likely areas to be impacted by flooding are: X Urban streams/gulches; road crossings; recreational trails; adjacent open space areas/campgrounds/parks; floodplain properties; utilities X Urban streets, intersections, low lying areas, known trouble spots ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Additional Information: Strong stationary, or training of thunderstorms has the potential to produce 1.20" total in under 30 minutes.
