LOW IMPACT FLOODING
PRIORITY DISSEMINATION RECOMMENDED

We have determined that low impact flooding is likely in Arapahoe County
including: the City of Aurora

from: Current to 530 PM.
Prime time for flooding: Current to 500 PM.

Forecast rainfall: Weak to moderate thunderstorms will produce rainfall rates of 0.3-0.8" in 10-30 minutes. Strong thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall rates of 0.8-2.0" in 10-30 minutes. Training of thunderstorm cells or a large/slower moving thunderstorm may produce up to 3.5" of rain in 45-75 minutes.

The most likely areas to be impacted by flooding are:

X Urban streams/gulches; road crossings; recreational trails; adjacent open space areas/campgrounds/parks; floodplain properties; utilities

X Urban streets, intersections, low lying areas, known trouble spots

Additional Information: Excessive runoff is imminent or already occurring over portions of Arapahoe County and is expected to enter the City of Aurora shortly. Strong thunderstorms may also contain large hail, gusty winds and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
