FLOOD WATCH
The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for: the
following counties: BOULDER (CITY OF BOULDER AFFECTED, FOUR MILE BURN
AREA AFFECTED), JEFFERSON, BROOMFIELD, DOUGLAS, ADAMS, DENVER,
ARAPAHOE
including: DIA, THE CITY OF AURORA, ARVADA, WHEAT RIDGE, LAKEWOOD

to 1159 PM
. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BOULDER HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WATCH FOR
THE ENTIRE DISTRICT FROM 12:00 PM TODAY UNTIL 11:59 PM TONIGHT. THE
MESSAGE 2 MAY BE RESCINDED PRIOR TO 11:59 PM IF CONDITIONS WARRANT.
Prime time for flooding: 1200 PM
to 1100 PM

Forecast rainfall: Typical thunderstorms have the potential to produce
moderate to heavy rainfall of 0.50” to 1.00” total, in 10-30
minutes. Strong thunderstorms have the potential to produce very heavy
rainfall of 1.00” to 1.50” total, in 10-30 minutes. Anchored or
slow-moving thunderstorms have the potential to produce 1.50” to
2.20” in 45 to 60 minutes.

Additional information: Heavy rainfall may result in excessive runoff
and possibly flash flooding over the District this afternoon into the
late evening. Strong thunderstorms may also contain large hail, gusty
winds, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and possibly an isolated
tornado.
A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible within the watch area.

this information along to affected emergency response organizations
(police, fire, public works, etc.) within your area.
Also, please take appropriate actions to prepare for possible
flooding.
