We have determined that street and small stream flooding is possible in the following counties: Arapahoe, Denver, Adams, Douglas, Broomfield, Jefferson, Boulder (City of Boulder affected, Four Mile Burn Area affected)
including: the City of Aurora, DIA, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood from: Current to 700 PM.
Prime time for flooding: 200 PM to 600 PM. Forecast rainfall: Typical showers/thunderstorms will produce a 0.05-0.25” total in 10 to 30 minutes. A moderate thunderstorm will produce 0.25” to 0.50” total in 10 to 30 minutes. A strong thunderstorm will produce 0.50” to 1.00” total in 10 to 30 minutes. The most likely areas to be impacted by flooding are:

X Mountain streams & floodplains; road crossings; canyon roads & highways; recreational trails; adjacent open space areas/campgrounds/parks; fishing access points & stream reaches; buildings near streams; utilities

X Urban streams/gulches; road crossings; recreational trails; adjacent open space areas/campgrounds/parks; floodplain properties; utilities

X Urban streets, intersections, low lying areas, known trouble spots

X Mountain locations subject to mud/rock/debris slide

Additional Information: An anchored strong thunderstorm or training of thunderstorm cells has the potential to produce up to 1.50” in under 60 minutes.
